Sadaf's Malaysian Pandan Cake (Kuih Bakar)


My friend Sadaf made this delicious Malaysian Pandan Cake and it was absolutely delicious. Thanks Sadaf for sharing your recipe. Pandan paste is available at any Korean grocery store and is green in color which gives this cake its unique taste and color.The cake is moist and delicious in a melt in your mouth kind of way. Its an easy and scrumptious dessert. Happy Baking :)

Serves: 12 pieces
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups flour
2/3 cup sugar
2 tsp pandan paste
1 can coconut milk (400 ml)
3 eggs
2 tbs butter
1/3 tsp salt
Toasted sesame seed

1. Preheat oven at 360F.

2. Butter a baking pan, preferably round and about 2.5in deep.
2. Sift flour and salt into a bowl and add sugar, coconut milk, eggs, butter and pandan paste and blend with a hand blender for a few minutes.
3. Pour the mixture into a baking pan and sprinkle the top with sesame seeds.
4. Bake for 1 hour.

5. Remove and cool for a few minutes before serving.
